The Vision of the New Jerusalem
December 1, 2008 - email from The Open Scroll email list
Greetings!
This is from my friend Kelly Herman.
This vision was given to me on 11/30/08 at 8:00 AM.
In my living room on Sunday morning I was finishing a book entitled "Because the Time is Near" by John MacArthur. As he described from the book of Revelation, The New Jerusalem, I was taken in the spirit, where an angel was waiting for me. We both stood at the outside of The New Jerusalem.
The angel spoke to me, as my eyes delighted in the jewel-like city: "Daughter of man, look here and watch what I will do." As he waved his right hand toward the city, piece by piece of the city was lifted off and floated into the air. Pieces were suspended much like you would see in a computer aided architectural program. Each piece was removed, suspended and raised up out of my sight. All of this was removed, except for the cornerstone.
The angel spoke, "Do you see this here?" I cried out, "It's Yeshua (Jesus)!" (emphasis mine). The angel replied, "Yes it is! The cornerstone must never be removed and has always been. A building is only as strong as its cornerstone." The angel continued to speak, "I will now show you exactly how The New Jerusalem was built. The cornerstone you already know is the work and sacrifice of the Messiah, the Son of God. All things are then built upon this foundational stone. Let's begin here at the gates. Each gate represents one of the twelve tribes of Israel. Each one is a pearl. As an oyster tries to rid itself of the irritating grain of sand that inevitably ends up in its shell, it fights hard and creates a buffer around the grain of sand. The buffer is made of a secretion from the oyster because of pain and hardship. It spends its life toiling and the result, is the pearl."
"As the oyster, each gate, each foundation stone, each stone that makes up this great city, was created and put into place by the toil and hardship of each precious child of God. The gates represent the toil and hardship of the twelve tribes of Israel. The foundation stones represent the toil and hardship of the twelve apostles. Every child of God is a lively stone, and there is nothing built here that the work of a child of God does not represent. Each stone, gate, and casing is someone's hardship and toil for God Himself. Give this encouragement to all the saints so they may know and see their fruitful work and what God has done with it. Your toil and hardship are not in vain. These very things were used to create a most magnificent and eternal city. Here you will find rest."
Looking up and loving the learning process, Kelly Herman in Dallas
