Who is Pope Benedict XVI?
Who is Pope Benedict XVI? Does he factor into Bible prophecy? What has been his role in the last days? My research into this man turns up some intriguing facts that are no less relevant since his resignation.
Pope Benedict XVI announced on 2/11/13 that he will resign at the end of the month, on the 28th. Many accept that his resignation will lead quickly to the next Pope in succession, to the final entry on the list of St. Malachy (the Prophecy of the Popes) who is identified as Peter the Roman, Petrus Romanus. I'll address that in this study, but even if that prophecy can be dismissed, Joseph Ratzinger alias Pope Benedict XVI should be recognized as having a significant role in these last days! This is useful background for what is awaiting us in two years time.
First, the Vatican is embroiled in a pedophile scandal involving long term child abuse and cover up that extends all the way up the hierarchy to the Pope and the cardinals that form the pool of candidates for the next Pope. See the recent HBO documentary Mea Maxima Culpa: Silence In The House Of God (2012) If what is revealed in Part 13 - The Sodomite Gateway - The Sodomite High Priest of the Romish Sun Cult on The Open Scroll Blog can be accepted and understood, the matter can be viewed from a more mature perspective. It may be that the Pope's resignation may be related to the efforts to make the Vatican accountable for child exploitation, abuse and murder.

Now, beyond the scandals, what is most noteworthy is that Joseph Ratzinger was born and baptized on the same day, on the most important signal day for such a thing in Bible prophecy. I will show how this identifies him with a key player described in the book of Revelation. His election as Pope happened on another very special day on a calendar observed by the Romish Church and globalist Illumined Luciferian sorcerers. The meaning of his birth name is filled with meaning, and the Papal name he chose for himself reveals an awareness of his biblical role. Numerology is very important to the esoterics (and the Romish church is very much an esoteric institution), and the number 13 is imprinted on this Pope, a number that not only signals rebellion against the Sovereign God he professes to serve but identifies him further with the Biblical agents known as the Beasts.
Tom Horn and Chris Putnam have increased the popularity of the dramatic Prophecy of the Popes and shed light on recent machinations of the Vatican, in “Petrus Romanus - The Final Pope and the Antichrist are Here” and in the upcoming work, Exo-Vaticana. See Part 12 of the preview here, where you'll find links to the other 11. Tom and Chris are doing a valuable work in bringing these things forward but, from my perspective, what they are able to reveal falls short of what should be known about the matter. Due to how familiar this is to many of us, I'm going to begin with a consideration of the contraversial Prophecy of the Popes.
According to the most popular version of the prophecy, St. Malachy wrote the following as the final entry.
If the document is credible, and many are convinced it has proved reliable, the conclusion drawn by Horn and Putnam about how “The Final Pope and the Antichrist are Here,” is valid. Given the celestial sign of 1991 and the insight I received in 2008 during the Papal visit to NYC into the meaning of that sign, that is my conclusion as well.
Some confusion exists as to whether the most popular version of St Malachy's list is correct, a matter that may find resolution over the course of the next few weeks. It is a matter of no great consequence from most perspectives but it's still worth watching for potential insight. From the Wikipedia entry for “Prophecy of the Popes”.
“However, in the 1595 Lignum Vitae, the line In persecutione extrema S.R.E. sedebit. forms a separate sentence and paragraph of its own, and it is unclear whether it is grammatically related to Gloria Olivae which precedes it, or to Petrus Romanus, which follows it. There is a claim that the original list written by St. Malachy does not contain a reference to Petrus Romanus and that the last lines were added to the printed text in Wyon's Lignum Vitæ. This, however, probably cannot be proved, as the original manuscript (if any) probably no longer exists.”
It may appear that Pope Benedict XVI's announcement of resignation assures us of a coming Petrus Romanus in a witness to that version's authenticity. Because we are in a season of dramatic miracles, and on the strength of Ratzinger's identification that will be documented in this study, I withhold making any claim that there will come another after him to claim this throne.
The Prophecy of the Popes presents 112 short phrases in Latin, including what would be a distinct final entry for Petrus Romanus. Identifying each of the Roman Catholic popes (along with a few anti-popes), beginning with Pope Celestine II (elected in 1143), Benedict XVI is “Gloria Olivae,” number 111 on the list. Will another emerge as the 112th entry in the identity of Petrus Romanus? In Revelation 17:11, that Beast is identified as a king who is one of seven kings, who “is himself also an eighth and is one of the seven.” Will a similar situation exist with the False Prophet Beast? It will soon be seen whether someone will “out-Benedict” Benedict, for the role. Whether or not Ratzinger gets a miraculous “second wind” that extends his reign, or the office passes to another, what may be gleaned from the life of Joseph Alois Ratzinger is well worth noting!
Before continuing, I want to note that the Vatican is embroiled in a pedophile scandal involving long term child abuse and cover up that extends all the way up the hierarchy of priests to the Pope and the cardinals that form the pool of candidates for the next Pope. Let me emphasize to you that this is not a subject to be taken lightly or one to be approached in ignorance. False and counterfeit things are only ever known by way of familiarity with the genuine. I will be very forthright in declaring at the outset that you, the reader, will not likely make much sense of this study without a very close familiarity with the baptism of Y'shua and the symbolism involved, as presented here: Baptism - The Prophecy. If you are wondering, "What could Jesus' baptism have to do with the Pope?" there is another study I highly recommend you read, where a coming baptism that will counterfeit the baptism of the true Messiah is explained in detail. This study offers essential insight about a pivotal event in the last days! See The Sign for the Bride. As a matter of appropriate efficiency, I'm only going to include here a very minimal introduction.
The word "messiah" literally means "anointed," and the word "christ" is the same. It is the same meaning, just appearing in three different languages. Christ = Messiah = Anointed
Here is the description of the baptism. Observe that there are four entities participating in this event.
In those days Jesus came from Nazareth in Galilee and was baptized by John in the Jordan.
10) Immediately coming up out of the water, He saw the heavens opening, and the Spirit like a dove descending upon Him;
11) and a voice came out of the heavens: "You are My beloved Son, in You I am well-pleased."
12) Immediately the Spirit impelled Him to go out into the wilderness.
The coming counterfeit is after this same pattern with what must be a full complement of counterparts.
- The beloved Son who came from Nazareth in Galilee is Y'shua. The counterpart: The lawless one (2 Thessalonians 2), the beast seen coming out of the sea (Revelation 13:1-2).
- The voice that came out of heaven spoke to his beloved Son, so, the one speaking is Y'shua's Father in heaven, Yahweh. The counterpart: The dragon, the devil. (Revelation 13:1-2)
- The Spirit like a dove that descended on Y'shua and impelled Him to go out into the wilderness is the holy spirit. The counterpart: The unholy spirit, the spirit of anti-christ. (1 John 4:3)
- The one who baptized in the Jordan as the officiating High Priest, John (as the true prophet Elijah- Matthew 11:14). The counterpart: The anti-baptizer, the false prophet. (Matthew 24:24, Revelation 19:20)
The Day Born and Baptized Links Pope to Counterfeit Baptism Via the Lord's Calendar
The Pope is linked to the counterfeit baptism through the day on which he was born, a connection established not by man, who has no control over the day of a natural birth, but by the One with authority in such and truly all matters. "Joseph Alois Ratzinger was born on 16 April, Holy Saturday, 1927 at Schulstraße 11, at 8:30 in the morning in his parents' home in Marktl am Inn, Bavaria, Germany. He was baptized the same day." (Wikipedia entry for Pope Benedict XVI (Joseph Ratzinger) - 7/13/2008)
The day of his birth was notable not so much because it was "Holy Saturday" but because of where it appears to have fallen on the Lord's calendar. In lieu of reliable barley reports from that time (If you discover any, please notify me.) it is speculative but quite likely that the accounting of the Lord's calendar places Joseph Ratzinger's birth in the first month of the year, the springtime month known as Nisan or Aviv. Since the month would have begun on April 3 at the sighting of the new moon, as every lunar month, a counting of days indicates Aviv 13 began at sunset on April 15, 1927 and ended at sunset on the 16th. Taking into account the other factor, location, we note that Marktl am Inn, Bavaria, Germany is in time zone UT+1. Entering the world at 8:30 on the morning of the 16th of April, Joseph Ratzinger was born in the midst of this thirteenth day of the first month, Jerusalem time.
As to the significance of that day, consider the following quote from When Will the Lawless One be Revealed? (The Sign for the Bride - Part 2): Students of history have for a long time observed that events with similar themes tend to occur on anniversaries of the same day, as accounted on the Lord's calendar. In keeping with this trend, you will discover in this study that the revealing of the lawless one is foreshadowed in events that each occurred on the thirteenth day of the first month! This baby who would become known later in life as Pope Benedict XVI appears to have been born on the thirteenth day of the first month, the very day underscored in a number of symbolic historical and biblical views prophesying the baptism of a counterfeit messiah by a counterfeit priest!
This Pope was BAPTIZED on the same day he was born. For one to be baptized on the day of one's birth is not particularly common, and in this instance it seems worthy of particular note because it is this very subject that the prophetic views of this day revolve upon. So, we might ask whether it might be that, because the counterfeit messiah is appointed for baptism on the thirteenth day of the first month, and this is the day the Pope was baptized, that he is, as some suggest, "The Antichrist"? Well, no. When this man I refer to most frequently as the lawless one is baptized on the appointed day he will be as depicted in prophetic type as a grown man and not a newborn infant.
The Pope's birth and baptism on this day thereby links him to the pivotal end-time event that is the counterfeit baptism through the evident agency of the sovereign Lord, who oversees all events and has appointed signs in the earth to instruct watchful saints about important events to come.
The Pope's Election was a "Baptism" on the Day of the Satanic Calendar's "Bloody Sacrifice to the Beast"
Another special day in Joseph Alois Ratzinger's life was when he was elected Pope. On April 19, 2005, Cardinal Ratzinger was elected as the successor to Pope John Paul II on the second day of the papal conclave after four ballots. Cardinal Ratzinger had hoped to retire peacefully and said that "At a certain point, I prayed to God 'please don't do this to me'... Evidently, this time He didn't listen to me." (Wikipedia entry for Pope Benedict XVI (Joseph Ratzinger) - 7/13/2008) The day he was elected was a little known but still very significant holiday that links him, like the day of his birth and baptism, to the counterfeit baptism of the Beast.
You will notice in the outline of the Satanic calendar on the right that April 19 has been highlighted in red to better bring it to your attention. It is the day that begins the 13 day period known as the Blood (or Bloody) Sacrifice to the Beast. According to common practice, on that day a fire sacrifice is required. There was evidence of such a sacrifice on this day at the election of the Pope!
It is customary to signal the outcome of the casting of ballots during a papal election by way of the color of the smoke coming from the chimney of the Sistine Chapel. Black smoke means no Pope was elected while white smoke indicates the opposite. Where there's smoke there's fire, right? Was there a legitimate sacrifice exhibited in the Pope's election? What was being burned to produce the smoke? Ballot slips fueled the fire. In no small way, the lives of the men whose names they contained were represented by those slips. If you consider what happened to the man Joseph Ratzinger you must realize the life that had been his had passed away as a sacrifice due to those very ballot slips. As Pope, the new identity and life fully replaced the old. We have a window of insight into this in the record of Joseph Ratzinger's expression of reluctance: "Cardinal Ratzinger had hoped to retire peacefully and said that 'At a certain point, I prayed to God "please don't do this to me"...'"
As the ballot slips representing the selection of Joseph Ratzinger burned the smoke ascended into the heavens, and those multitudes watching attentively for a sign enthusiastically celebrated the fiery sacrifice on the very day of the Satanic calendar appointed for such, April 19.
Now, the name of this holiday should be taken under consideration, as it is known as the Blood (or Bloody) Sacrifice to the Beast. At the Pope's election it was indeed the sacrifice of a life, the life of one man formerly known as Joseph Ratzinger. It was a blood sacrifice in that the life of the flesh is in the blood. The sacrifice of a life is equivalent to the spilling of blood.
'For the life of the flesh is in the blood, and I have given it to you on the altar to make atonement for your souls; for it is the blood by reason of the life that makes atonement.'
As to the identity of the Beast to whom sacrifice is made, it is the devil. The spawn of the devil who is the Beast of Revelation 13:1-8 will further be honored in this, who is the subject of the antichrist baptism.
Let's pause to reflect on the facts presented so far.
This Pope was quite probably born and baptized on an anniversary of the day appointed for the baptism of the Beast. Statistically, one in every 365 people are born on a given day of the year. A lesser number are baptized on the same day of their birth, which serves to mark that day as more special in such a case. That feature draws our attention to see Joseph Ratzinger thus identified with the subject of baptism on that singular day appointed for a baptism. If it were all by itself, that link between the Pope and the counterfeit baptism would be worthy of note but, really, you could argue that it's not so uncommon a condition as to be of considerable interest. The next fact presented was that the Pope was elected on a Satanic holiday. The primary feature announcing the election of a Pope very dramatically exhibited the characteristic attribute of that very holiday, and that is a fact that really must now be seen as one of considerable interest. Are the Roman Catholics not renowned for their interest in dates and times and symbols of every kind? Could those who choose the dates and symbols so carefully be ignorant of the facts mentioned here?
Consider what others have observed at cuttingedge.org.

I haven't mentioned it yet, but you may have noticed how what happened at the election is precisely what is pictured in baptism: death and resurrection. (You did read and become familiar with the background studies I recommended, right?) In water baptism, being immersed in the water represents death and coming up out of the water, resurrection. Joseph Ratzinger symbolically went up in smoke. Then came the introduction: "Habemus Papam!" "We have a Pope!" As water purifies a thing, so does fire. The smoke color changed at the Pope's "baptism by fire" from black to white - representing impurity then purity. There's nothing random, here. Baptism is a solid theme in these two most significant days in the life of the Pope. One can certainly view these two days as marking off two lives. From the first date to the second Joseph Alois Ratzinger was born, lived and died. On the second, the Pope came forth.
With these things in mind, let's consider the continuation of the lengthy process of becoming fully ordained and manifested as the Pope.
"On April 24, he celebrated the Papal Inauguration Mass in St. Peter's Square, during which he was invested with the Pallium and the Ring of the Fisherman." ( Wikipedia entry for Pope Benedict XVI (Joseph Ratzinger) - 7/13/2008) This activity appears like what should be expected at the revealing of the lawless one, where there is a grant of authority during a ceremony (which may or may not be carried out in the public domain). Yet, another participant in that event must also have a grant of authority, so the official duties may be performed with an air of legitimacy. Let's give further consideration to what role the Pope might play in the counterfeit baptism, whether as the Messiah, counterpart to Y'shua, or, the High Priest, counterpart to John the Baptizer.
Various attributes of the Messianic pretender are revealed throughout the Bible and it is plain to most that when these are taken into account the Pope is really not a viable candidate. However, as for the role of High Priest he is perhaps the only candidate! One in such a role has to be generally acknowledged as having the authority on earth to baptize in the name of heaven. Like the Pope. A "High Priest" must have convincing and widely accepted qualifications and credentials. Again, like the Pope. He is unquestionably at the head of the hierarchy of what is considered "christian" priesthood by most people in the world. Even outside the realm of his subjects within the Romish church Pope Benedict's influence is absolutely incredible! It cannot be argued against that he commands worshipful respect among non-Catholic professing christians, among professing non-christians, including those who profess other religions, and, among kings of the earth from East to West. History records century after century of saints who identified the Romish church most particularly with the symbols of Revelation 17 and 18! Are those with the courage and resolve and testimony of the martyrs deceived? Who else other than the "High Priest" of the Romish church could possibly be considered as capable of baptizing the one who will be Beast? The Dalai Lama commands considerable respect in the world, but does not seriously compete with the Pope in this matter. Tony Blair? No, as much of a player as he's become, he still follows the Pope!
Let's begin to compare John the Baptizer and Pope Benedict XVI. John was uniquely qualified to baptize Y'shua. He was an Aaronite according to the Levitical requirement and, beyond that, fully equipped for the Melchizedek priesthood. John was prepared from before birth for his special ministry by the Heavenly Father, being filled with spirit from his mother's womb. He was sanctified in his ways and was accepted as having the grant of authority from heaven to baptize, which was manifest in the fruit of his ministering. The common people came to John to be baptized, confessing their sins. (Matthew 3:6) An official grant of authority came to Pope Benedict XVI on April 24, 2005. The common people now come to Benedict and his Priests, confessing their sins. Benedict was specially marked at his birth by being born and baptized on what was most probably an anniversary of the counterfeit baptism. At the appointed time, a few days after his election on the appointed Satanic holiday, he received the evident and public grant of authority over the kingdom of heaven on earth, receiving and wielding as symbolic of the same the Pallium and the Ring of the Fisherman. (More about his Papal inauguration here) The Pope is very much like John the Baptist, as his counterpart, perhaps?
Benedict is not the Messianic Beast but before long he may become known as his baptizer, as the false prophet and the beast seen coming out of the earth having two horns like a lamb! After all, who is known as the Vicar of Christ (the Lamb) and is clothed with the woolen Pallium? See him in the picture riding in the Popemobile? Two horns? (The two-horned mitre) Check. Vicar of Christ clothed in wool? Check.
The Pope Associates Himself With John the Baptist by the Name He Chose
Let's consider the Pope's choice for his pontifical or regnal name because a name is of great importance. It's the prominent label for a man and a key element of his identity. The basic meaning of "Benedict" is "Blessed," which seems quite innocent. However, this choice links him to John the Baptist! I found the following definition on dictionary.com. (It was earlier included on the "Benedict" page but is currently found under "Benedictus.")
Ben`e*dic"tus\, n. [L., blessed. See Benedict, a.] The song of Zacharias at the birth of John the Baptist (--Luke i. 68); -- so named from the first word of the Latin version.
Webster's Revised Unabridged Dictionary, © 1996, 1998 MICRA, Inc.
benedictus - Dictionary.com - July 25, 2008
The use of the name "Benedictus" as a reference to this passage in Luke is popular enough for Wikipedia to have an entry dedicated to it, called Benedictus (Song of Zechariah).
The Pope is more than a little familiar with Latin, the language of the "Mass." Those of us who aren't students of the Latin Bible will naturally see no connection with John the Baptist in the name "Benedict," but, you may be assured that the renowned scholar of the Latin Bible, Joseph Ratzinger, does! The Pope's official explanation of why he chose this name neglects to mention this connection. Well, the secret is out - this insight is not just for insiders in the know. Names are important, especially to those so bound to ritual and symbol as the Romish priesthood, and such a man chose a name that identifies him with John the Baptist!
Have you read the biblical account of the naming of John the Baptist found in the first chapter of Luke? Have you ever wondered why the choice of name was so important as to warrant being brought to our attention with such drama? I have. The reason for heightened drama usually, and perhaps always, is better understood when revealed in the brighter light of the prophetic viewpoint. To my mind, it is the holy spirit alerting us to pay special attention to matters of naming when we come to this account. Could it be for our benefit today, as we are directed here to consider the naming of a potential counterfeit?
When we read the gospel account where Zacharias' tongue is loosed and he speaks of his child, right in the midst of the prophecy referenced by those in the know as "Benedictus," we find the following declaration.
And you, child, will be called the prophet of the Most High; For you will go on BEFORE THE LORD TO PREPARE HIS WAYS;
Another is appointed to fulfill that prophecy. Pope Benedict XVI: Is he that man, the very anti-John-the-Baptizer?
Perhaps equally ominous is this other meaning of the name.
1. b. A canticle that begins Benedictus qui venit in nomine Domini ("Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord") that forms the end of the Sanctus in the Roman Catholic Mass.

benedictus - Dictionary.com - July 25, 2008
This Benedictus opens with the very expression that will acknowledge and welcome the True Messiah, equivalent to the Hebrew "Baruch haba b'Shem Adonai." (Psalm 118:26, Matthew 21:9) If Benedict is appointed to prepare the way for and welcome the False Messiah, should we be surprised?
What's in a Name? Joseph Alois Ratzinger
Prior to becoming Pope this man was identified with the name given at birth: Joseph Alois Ratzinger. Let's examine each name in order. This first name is going to cover a lot of ground.
There is some deep truth to glean from the biblical naming of Jacob's son Joseph. He was given the name meaning "Let Him add," in the context of his mother Rachel's desire for the Lord to add yet another son in addition to her first.
She named him Joseph, and said, "May the Lord add to me another son."
So, the given name "Joseph" binds that son to another of the same lineage. There is in this name something also of a redirect of attention from the one named to the other. Remember these attributes of what I will refer to as a "Joseph pattern."
In the case of Jacob and Rachel, their son Joseph, by reason of his name, points us to the one who was added by the Lord, his only full brother, Benjamin. (This, I have declared as a very important prophetic relationship in other writings.) John the Baptist is something of a "Joseph" as he had a notable relative who came after him, to whom he redirected attention. Herr Ratzinger may be found to be appropriately named "Joseph," as well.
John and the one he primarily came to baptize are related through their mothers' common ancestry. John's mother Elizabeth and Y'shua's mother Mary were kin, possibly cousins, even though John was a Levite and Y'shua, a Judahite. This is one feature of the name "Joseph" exhibited in John the Baptist, seen in the following address to Mary.
And behold, even your relative Elizabeth has also conceived a son in her old age; and she who was called barren is now in her sixth month.
The other feature can be seen in the gospels of Mark and John, where the son of Zacharias displays a characteristic redirection of attention.
And he was preaching, and saying, "After me One is coming who is mightier than I, and I am not fit to stoop down and untie the thong of His sandals.
8) I baptized you with water; but He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit."
9) In those days Jesus came from Nazareth in Galilee and was baptized by John in the Jordan.
John said, "After me One is coming who is mightier than I..." He redirected attention and honor to the relative who came after him. Yes, John the Baptist exhibits the Joseph pattern! In the following passage, he refers to himself as being sent ahead of the other, and, the redirection is perhaps even more prominent.
Therefore there arose a discussion on the part of John's disciples with a Jew about purification.
26) And they came to John and said to him, "Rabbi, He who was with you beyond the Jordan, to whom you have testified, behold, He is baptizing and all are coming to Him."
27) John answered and said, "A man can receive nothing unless it has been given him from heaven.
28) You yourselves are my witnesses that I said, 'I am not the Christ,' but, 'I have been sent ahead of Him.'
29) He who has the bride is the bridegroom; but the friend of the bridegroom, who stands and hears him rejoices greatly because of the bridegroom's voice So this joy of mine has been made full.
30) He must increase, but I must decrease.
31) He who comes from above is above all, he who is of the earth is from the earth and speaks of the earth He who comes from heaven is above all.
In a convincing fashion, John's ministering exhibits the meaning of the name "Joseph."
Is this "Joseph pattern" likewise manifest in the life of this Joseph Ratzinger? Might it be in the future? Well, up to the present time this man publicly appears to redirect attention by professing to exalt Jesus and "the blessed virgin Mary." Of course, while John the Baptist was truly a humble servant an honest person must agree that the Pope is not, who feigns humility while welcoming all manner of exaltation, even to the extent of receiving worship of the kind even the angels of God refuse! As to future possibilities, let's consider the "Joseph pattern" as it relates to the second beast, the prophetic identity Joseph Ratzinger as Pope seems destined to fulfill.
In the following scriptures we find the second beast redirecting attention, honor and worship to the first beast in accordance with the "Joseph pattern."
Then I saw another beast, coming out of the earth. He had two horns like a lamb, but he spoke like a dragon.
12) He exercised all the authority of the first beast on his behalf, and made the earth and its inhabitants worship the first beast, whose fatal wound had been healed.
14) Because of the signs he was given power to do on behalf of the first beast, he deceived the inhabitants of the earth. He ordered them to set up an image in honor of the beast who was wounded by the sword and yet lived.
This redirection compares to what we observed regarding John the Baptist. Do you see it?
A family relationship is part of the "Joseph pattern" and should also be considered. As Joseph pointed to his relative Benjamin, John the Baptizer pointed to his relative Y'shua. The two-horned beast will point to the ten-horned beast. Will these horned beasts have a common ancestor much more near than Noah? Might there be some genealogical documentation or genetic evidence brought forward? (Is Ratzinger related to Bill Clinton, perhaps? Keep watch.)
I have made some observations from the scriptures connecting this two-horned beast with John the Baptist, connections that serve to relate the function of baptizing to the beast.
In the passage I referenced from John 3, (see above) John the Baptist referred to himself when he declared, "he who is of the earth is from the earth and speaks of the earth." (John 3:31b) In verse 11 of Revelation 13 the two horned-beast is seen "coming out of the earth," and it is declared that, "he spoke like a dragon." John was of the earth and from the earth and likewise the beast was seen coming out of the earth. John testified that he speaks of the earth and likewise, the testimony about the beast is that he spoke like a dragon, the selfsame serpent condemned to go on its belly eating the dust of the earth!
The LORD God said to the serpent, "Because you have done this, Cursed are you more than all cattle, And more than every beast of the field; On your belly you will go, And dust you will eat All the days of your life;
Consider, now, how the beast has two horns like a lamb. This beast is not a lamb but has two horns like a lamb. In verse 8 of this same thirteenth chapter of Revelation a Lamb is mentioned, "the Lamb that was slain from the creation of the world." This beast will bear some resemblance to this Lamb. A critical element in the testimony of John the Baptist is that he twice declared concerning the one baptized, "Behold, the Lamb of God!" (John 1:29 and 36) John was like this Lamb of God, which is a noteworthy truth brought to our attention through the confusion surrounding their identities we find woven tightly into the biblical testimony. (See John 1:19-22, 24-25) John the baptizer was like the Lamb and the beast has two horns like a lamb, resembling the Lamb of God. Of course, this second horned beast will also resemble the first seen horned beast by speaking like a dragon, the dragon who gives authority to the first beast that is counterfeit Lamb of God.
Yet another connection between John the Baptist and this two-horned beast comes by way of common links to another identity, that of Elijah. Elijah, as you may know, was a renowned prophet of the true God. Elijah's main antagonist was Queen Jezebel. Both Elijah and Jezebel are presented in prophetic scripture as important characters in the last days. John the Baptist is held as a great prophet (Luke 7:28 "...Among those that are born of women there is not a greater prophet than John the Baptist...") and is equated to Elijah, who is in some circles considered to be the greatest prophet.
And if you are willing to accept it, John himself is Elijah who was to come.
The two-horned beast is also referred to in the Bible as the false prophet.
13 And I saw coming out of the mouth of the dragon and out of the mouth of the beast and out of the mouth of the false prophet, three unclean spirits like frogs; 14 for they are spirits of demons, performing signs, which go out to the kings of the whole world, to gather them together for the war of the great day of God, the Almighty.
19 And I saw the beast and the kings of the earth and their armies assembled to make war against Him who sat on the horse and against His army. 20 And the beast was seized, and with him the false prophet who performed the signs in his presence, by which he deceived those who had received the mark of the beast and those who worshiped his image; these two were thrown alive into the lake of fire which burns with brimstone. 21 And the rest were killed with the sword which came from the mouth of Him who sat on the horse, and all the birds were filled with their flesh.
As "the false prophet" he is a counterpart to "the true prophet" Elijah, or John the Baptist. As Elijah called down fire from heaven, (2 Kings 1) so it is that the two horned beast causes fire to come down from heaven. (Revelation 13:13) So, we see John the Baptist is like Elijah, a true prophet, and the beast with two horns like a lamb is like Elijah but is the false prophet.
There is an almost overwhelming amount of information here so it can be difficult to keep things mentally organized. What does this have to do with Joseph Ratzinger? In a somewhat winding journey I've addressed a number of connections between he and John the Baptist, and a counterfeit baptism. I've proposed how a Pope is uniquely qualified to baptize the false Messiah, the ten-horned beast. We've considered elements that suggest the Romish Pope may be the beast with two horns like a lamb. (Remember the image of Benedict riding in the Popemobile as the Vicar of Christ with the two-horned mitre on his head, wearing the woolen Pallium?) In presenting the meaning of the name "Joseph" I show how this name's pattern is evident in the accounts of both John the Baptist and the two-horned beast. I've lastly related the function of baptizing to this beast by introducing some intriguing elements held in common by John the Baptist and the two-horned beast, the false prophet. There is in mathematics a property or relation (transitive) such that if A=B and B=C then A=C. As we rotate around the subjects of our study, Pope Benedict XVI aka Joseph Alois Ratzinger, John the Baptist and the beast with two horns like a lamb, the bonds between them are striking and undeniable. My point, beyond the lessons in the journey itself is simply this, that "Joseph" is a suitable name for a Pope appointed to baptize the lawless one, who appears ordained for the redirection of honor and worship.
Joseph Ratzinger's middle name is Alois, meaning "famous warrior." With a keen awareness of the man's association with John the Baptist, this name's meaning brings the following scripture to mind.
And, from the days of John the Baptist till now, the reign of the heavens doth suffer violence, and violent men do take it by force,
Matthew 11:12 (Young's Literal Translation)
The beast description in Revelation 13 seems befitting one called Alois.
Then I saw another beast, coming out of the earth. He had two horns like a lamb, but he spoke like a dragon.
12) He exercised all the authority of the first beast on his behalf, and made the earth and its inhabitants worship the first beast, whose fatal wound had been healed.
13) And he performed great and miraculous signs, even causing fire to come down from heaven to earth in full view of men.
14) He ordered them to set up an image in honor of the beast who was wounded by the sword and yet lived.
15) He was given power to give breath to the image of the first beast, so that it could speak and cause all who refused to worship the image to be killed.
The surname given to this man is "Ratzinger." I don't know the origin and meaning of that name, but let's give it a more casual handling, breaking it apart and considering slang. Ratzinger = rat + zinger
a person who abandons or betrays his or her party or associates, esp. in a time of trouble.
Idiom: smell a rat, to suspect or surmise treachery; have suspicion:
a person or thing that has vitality or animation or produces startling results.
A sudden shock, revelation, or turn of events.
Think back for a moment to the time when you first heard about the new Pope's name. What was the first thought that popped into your head when you learned he would be known as Benedict? The immediate association for most Americans is that of "Traitor". In this country, a traitor and a betrayer is oft referred to as a "Benedict Arnold," or, a Benedict. A RAT! When someone is publicly exposed for such treacherous betrayal it's a ZINGER for those betrayed! How do you think people under delusion will react when they finally see through the papal lies? Zing!
What's in a name? The names "Benedict" and "Joseph" and "Alois" along with a casual handling of "Ratzinger" are each rich with meaning when considered alongside pertinent facts relating to the two most important dates in this man's life. What was been brought to light thus far about dates and holidays and names may be attributed to mere coincidence by some, but, of course, some believe their grandfather's third cousin seven times removed might have been a wallaby. :) The composite suggests that this man is ordained to fulfil Bible prophecy. Given his advanced age, 81 as I write, if this is so, it is soon!
Can we say with assurance that Pope Benedict XVI is the false prophet, an "Elijah to come" and the very character John the Apostle was shown coming out of the earth as a beast with two horns like a lamb? I believe we can with a high degree of assurance, based upon what has been presented here in this study. Is he the very baptizer of the false Messiah? Watch and pray for insight. He has already been seen by the world in the role of baptizer in a very highly publicized and controversial event on a high holy day of Babylonian christianity. The events of April, 2008, regarding his visit to the USA, did nothing but offer much more assurance that he is, indeed, the prophesied man who would come.
"Thirteens" noted in connection with Pope Benedict XVI
Thirteen is the number perhaps most prominently associated with the lawless one, the first beast of Revelation 13. The number turns up in this Pope's life, too.
- He is the 265th Pope in church history. 2+6+5 = 13.
- Written entirely in Latin: "Benedictus XVI" is thirteen characters.
- Born and baptized on day thirteen of the first month
- Born and baptized on day thirteen of the year
- Elected on the first day of the thirteen day period of the Bloody Sacrifice to the Beast.
- He appears to be described most particularly in the thirteenth chapter of Revelation
- He appears to be modeled in the thirteenth chapter of John at "the last supper" in the dipping of the sop, as the likely baptizer (dipper) of the one Judas (the sop) represents.
